I managed to do a little more work on Called from the Ashes the other day. But a minor character popped up to delay the story. I thought I was just about ready to start the “history” part – which is meant to be the main part. Then a kid in the audience piped up and asked Harry if it was true that she once brought some people back from the dead. Brat! Shut up so we can get on with what we want to get on with! Honestly! Now I’ll apparently have to deal with that in some way before I can go back to the past. I hope it won’t take too long.

I finished Fire Exit yesterday. Four stars, but it’s in the library stock now. Liked it all right, and it was well-written, but it’s not a book I can love. Hopefully someone will take it home and like it more. The next print book I read will be Dog Wizard. It’s taken me way longer to get to that than I thought it would when I decided I’d better read the two earlier books in the series.
