9/20 Saturday

Had a bit of a library fail today. We stopped at two libraries and I left two books in each of them. But then I also took a book from the first one and three from the second. Well, I can’t help it! I nearly took three from the first one, but finally chose the one that looked most interesting. Little did I know, when I was mentally applauding my self-restraint, that the other one would have a copy of Walden (which I’ve never read somehow) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (which I haven’t read since the kids were little) and the autobiography of a Crow chief. So. Curse my addiction! I’m tempted to go back to the first library (the 10th Street one) and grab those other two books as well, dammit. In for a penny etc. The fact that most if not all of these will go into my stock when I finish them barely mitigates.

Also speaking of books, Amazon freaked me out this morning. I was skimming email on my phone when I first got up, as usual. Came across a receipt for the “purchase” of a Kindle book I didn’t recognize. What? The email was time-stamped 3:20 AM. Whaat? I’m not buying Kindle books anymore, particularly at that time of day. I tried checking the order details, but couldn’t find any useful info. Make that any info. Then I noticed that I hadn’t actually spent any money on this purchase, because “promotions”. Okay, but I still hadn’t ordered it. So I decided to look into it further after I got to the computer.

Scrolled down further in my inbox – so back to older emails – and found one from Goodreads. “Congratulations, you’re a Giveaways winner.” Yeah. So who’s dumber, me or them?

Watched: K-Pop Demon Hunters, Leverage

I need to find another protein source in place of yogurt for my Pop-Tart days. Seems like nearly every time I eat it now, I have what you might call a Very Bad Morning. Today was particularly Very Bad.

I’ve sold precisely nothing from my Progressive Sale. On the plus side, I’ve gotten all my expired items moved to the Ko-fi shop now, apart from a few things that had hit their limit of expirations. I’m still going to have sales for the rest of the stuff in the Etsy shop til it’s all gone. It’s not much work, so I might as well.

The writing is going pretty well lately. Still not super easy, but I never expect it to be easy. Last night, though, I was working on Freed right before bedtime, and I somewhat resented having to quit. That hasn’t happened much in these past few years, and I love it.

I’m pretty sure Called is going to be the last of the Morstan/Karbegla series. I just can’t see more story there. I mean there’s still the Grand Plan idea, but who knows if I’ll even figure out how to do that. There could still be more stories for the fantasy series. Or maybe I’ll come up with something totally new? Enh, not likely at this point.
