Yes, Friday the 13th, etc.
Last night I started reading The Blind Side by Michael Lewis. Decided it wasn’t for me though. I expected something more novel-like, I guess, even though it’s (semi-)biographical. The beginning was just endless blah-blah about football and football players. I suppose if I was at all interested in football it would be different. Ah well; I found it in an LFL and it will go back into one.

My bg was 115 before breakfast and 93 after my workout. Pretty good day I think.
Also during my workout I finished Vera, or Faith by Gary Shteyngart. 5 stars; book #11 for the year. I guess the best way to describe it would be a kids’ book, written for adults. And I enjoyed it. I have been reading a lot of literary fiction lately. I think I need to get back to more genre stuff, for inspirational purposes if nothing else.
I made a pair of earrings yesterday, with chicken charms. I have six of them, so I’m also planning to make a pin and a bookmark, and then I’ll have one chicken left. Don’t know what I’ll do with that one. Maybe a keychain.

I’m having my annual eye exam at the beginning of next month. Not really looking forward to it. I think my left eye is getting worse. Pretty sure at some point along the line something will have to be done about the developing cataracts, but I doubt I’ll be able to afford that.
Watched: Best Medicine. ugh. Supposed to be an American version of Doc Martin; falls far short of the original. It was somehow at the same time too similar (plotwise) and too different (tonewise), and ultimately boring and schmaltzy. (I mean, three separate scenes of Martin staring longingly at the bar crowd from his deck? One would have more than gotten the point across.) Pass.
