Listening to: “Angelique” by Mike Oldfield

Was it a busy week? Actually it was kind of a lazy week. I celebrated Thanksgiving by having a Sims day. Did the grocery shopping on Friday (not at Walmart, obviously). The usual Sims day on Saturday, and then of course yesterday I had the end-of-week and end-of-month chores. I finished everything up just before supper time. It was a lot. But no, didn’t get much done that was actually productive. Oh, I shoveled the decks yesterday afternoon, but the snow wasn’t very deep so it hardly counts.

 I hate this cold weather.

I think Cheryl will be up here next week. At least that’s when White Christmas will be showing at the Fargo Theater. And this is why I’ve put more effort into getting her Christmas presents than into any of my other Christmas shopping. I will have to remedy that. I just hope the last part of Cheryl’s present arrives in time.

I did get the annual ornaments ordered, and they arrived today. Damn those things are getting spendy though. And I don’t think they’d be any cheaper if I went to a store here in town to get them. Sure I’d save on the shipping, but there’s less chance of finding the ones I want that way.

We won’t be putting the tree up this year for the obvious reason. But Heather and I started our annual Christmas viewing on Saturday. I don’t even know how we’re going to get it all in this year, because we only have three more Saturdays before Christmas and we added a new movie this year. We’re either going to have to add some nights or pick up some stuff after Christmas. One of these years I really want to watch the Doctor Who Christmas specials again. And do a New Year’s Eve viewing of the Lord of the Rings movies again. Though I don’t think I want to watch them all on the same day.

Anyway . . . I have been trying to think of topics for more Christmas blog posts for this year. Although part of me says why bother because I put a ton of work into last year’s posts and nobody read them. Maybe I’ll just re-promote last year’s posts instead of wasting the effort this year.

The scummy scammy “book promoters” are coming out of the Tumblr woodwork lately, because I’ve been posting The Time of the Wolf. I generally just ignore them, although I report and block them if I’m in a bad mood.

Thinking of this prompted me to check my recent messages there and guess what? The same person who (most recently) says they can help promote my books (for a modest fee, I’m sure) also replied to one of my shop posts the other day saying they wanted to buy an unspecified thing, but didn’t want to order through the shop. I don’t know whether to be amused or insulted, but for damn sure I’m not going to fall for a scam that somebody first tried on me when this asshole was still in diapers.

Was just reading the first page of “Under” in my old journal, and realized I’ve completely forgotten about Mahar’s drum in Freed. Good thing I haven’t finished it yet, eh?
