LFL find, giveaway, and Kindle purchase I really should have read ages ago, in that order.
How has it been a whole week? Oh yes, I remember: I got a bug in my head about sorting Sims files, and couldn’t rest til it was done. One of my typical time-wasting projects. That took up a lot of free time on Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday I went out to lunch at Pizza Ranch with Mom and George. I hadn’t been there for a while, so it was a nice change of pace. But between lunch and a stop at the Boys’ Ranch thrift store afterwards (I scored four CDs for $6 and change), that afternoon was pretty well blown.
Friday was the end-of-the-month chores, and Ryann and fam came over in the afternoon so Alyssa could show us her Halloween costume. I probably should have skipped Sims Day on Saturday, but I was feeling both tired and lazy, so I didn’t.
Yesterday was much more productive. I got the Sunday chores done, I made a bracelet and earrings set plus another pair of earrings, watched an episode of The Sandman, and did some work on Called from the Ashes. I’m not entirely pleased with that last bit, because I quit at what seems to be the end of a scene. And I did the same thing when working on Freed just now. That just makes it harder to get started again next time.
Oh yes, Micky had a vet appointment on Thursday as well, for more shots. The appointment itself didn’t take very long, but the traffic made the drive over and back pretty long.
I’ve now baked seven (I think?) loaves of butternut squash bread. Should be just one more to go, though I might get two. I don’t know how much soup is left in the carton, exactly. So far I’ve given one loaf to Mom and two to Ryann. I have two in the freezer and I’m eating one. The first one went moldy when it was about two-thirds gone, which was disappointing. I’m doing variants on the recipe for these last three (the ones in the freezer and the one I’ll be baking on Wednesday), and noting the variants on the freezer bags. I’ve never tried baking so many loaves in such a short time before. It is tedious taking the bread machien down from the high cupboard every time though. There’s really nowhere else to put it, but I’m always afraid that one of these times I’m going to drop it, which will be the end of either the machine or me, depending on whether it hits the floor or my head first.
I won’t be baking a loaf tomorrow because there’s going to be a family gathering. Not exactly a funeral; more of a memorial luncheon for friends and family. Mom and I will be going together; I don’t know who else will be there from the family. Lisa will probably be sleeping at that time of day, since she works nights. And I’ll be very surprised if Greg and Heidi turn up.
Heather and I actually went for a walk this morning, though it was pretty cold. It was colder on Saturday, though, which meant we couldn’t do our planned library walk that day. Today I happened to have two books that had been in and out of our library at least five tims, so I donated them out. And didn’t bring any more home, which is probably just as well.
I’ve started adding my older Christmas stuff to the Ko-fi shop. (Not old; the stuff that used to be in the Etsy shop til just recently.) I think when I have all of it in there I’m going to start running another discount just for those things. Why not. I had to raise my prices again for this month, since my sales have been so dismal lately. And the expenses just keep coming whether I’m selling anything or not, which doesn’t seem quite fair.
Micky weighs just over five pounds now, by the way. And my word is he active. He’s absolutely wild in the mornings lately, both before and after breakfast. And I don’t think Lily and Boo have had this much exercise for years. He really keeps them hopping. I don’t think Max would have liked his energy as much. He probably would have been spending even more time hiding in my closet.
