Another random note from Jill the other night, and I had a dream the same night that might tie into the story somehow. And I think the only way I’m going to get this thing started is to pick up a new notebook and get to writing. I need a new physical space for it as well as the mental space. The only empty notebooks I have right now are memo-sized, and while it’s tempting to be precious (little notebook for short stories!), I know I’d end up regretting it.

I just finished a session with Calli. The battle’s started, but I still don’t know what’s going to happen. Hopefully the good guys will win. I mean yeah, they will eventually. But this particular skirmish? It’s gonna be touch and go. Or at least I hope it is. Won’t be very exciting otherwise.

I’ve been reading Patrick Swayze’s memoir so he’s been on my mind. And I came to a realization. I used to think Orlando Bloom would be perfect to play Kahri in a movie (or TV series; I mean, I’d need a series to do it all justice). But now I think I would cast Patrick in the role if I could. I mean, Orlando is still kind of a pretty boy, which is something. But Patrick was not only handsome, but had more of a real elvish quality to his features (those cheekbones! those eyes!). He would also have made a very good Joric.
